Before the London Fog became a Canadian café go-to, it started as just one pregnant woman's very specific tea order.

The London Fog was actually created in our home base of Vancouver in the mid-1990s by Mary Loria. Wanting to skip coffee during her pregnancy, Loria asked for her Earl Grey tea to be made with hot steamed milk instead of water, then added a little vanilla. Somewhere along the way, that improvised order got itself a name and became the drink we now know as the London Fog.

Trader Joe's London Fog Tea Concentrate makes recreating this very Vancouver invention at home considerably easier. Made with brisk Assam black tea, citrusy bergamot, and a touch of vanilla, the concentrate is designed to be mixed with two parts milk or your favourite non-dairy alternative to one part concentrate. That's it. Seriously. It's that easy.

Pour it hot on a rainy morning, or chill it down for an iced London Fog when the weather calls for it.
