Kraft Dinner, or KD as basically every Canadian knows it, has been a pantry staple for nearly a century. Introduced in the late 1930s, KD is the boxed macaroni and cheese brand with history. What started as just a combination of macaroni noodles, powdered cheese, and a box that could sit in the cupboard until you needed it, has evolved into so much more over the years. We’d even go so far as to say it’s become an icon of Canadian culture. It's the after-school meal, the broke-student dinner, the "there's nothing in the fridge" emergency plan, and the boxed nostalgia you still crave long after you've supposedly outgrown it. Whether you ate it straight out of the pot, added hot dogs, loaded it with ketchup, or insisted on making it exactly the way the instructions told you to, KD has earned its spot in the Canadian comfort-food hall of fame. 

And now...well, now KD is going where it’s never gone before: the soda aisle. 

Before we talk about that (because, WHAT?!), we have to introduce the other company bringing this crazy collab to life: Solly’s Craft Soda. While KD has been holding down dinner for generations of Canadians, Solly’s Craft Soda is newer to the scene. Officially launched in 2024, Solly’s specializes in small-batch, prebiotic sodas that are equal parts fizzy, delicious, and gut-friendly. But what really makes Solly’s stand out in a sea of better-for-you soft drinks is the fact that they aren’t afraid to get a little weird with their flavour lineup. Ever tried their Kosher Dill & Lime-flavoured craft soda? Highly recommend. 

So if there was any company that could deliver a KD-inspired sip, it’s Solly’s. We’ve seen a lot of wild crossovers through the years, but this KD Kraft Dinner x Solly's No Cream Soda is definitely topping the list. We taste-tested this one for ourselves as soon as it landed (because how could we not) and concluded that while some flavours are better explained, this one is definitely better tasted.
